Milk Thistle is sometimes considered a weed, however in Herbal Medicine it is seen as one of the primary liver tonic herbs available. It has a history of use that appears to date back 2,000 years for conditions that affect the liver and biliary systems.

Nature's Sunshine Milk Thistle contains a constituent called silymarin that has been found to play a large part in the therapeutic actions of the herb. The herb’s actions have been identified as hepatotonic, anti-oxidant and choleretic. It can provide support to the liver, as well as assist the release of bile from the liver and gall bladder.

Milk thistle is used as a general digestive tonic and hepatoprotective medicine. Animal studies have shown that silymarin of milk thistle exerts a liver protective effect against toxins. Milk thistle prevents toxins from entering the liver cells and stimulates the formation of new liver cells. 
 
  • Milk thistle may work as a mild laxative in some people. This may be due to the increase in bile secretion and flow into the intestinal system.

  • Use only as directed and always read the label.
  • People with diagnosed diabetes should check with their doctor as blood sugar levels could be altered when using this product.
Adults take 2 capsules with a meal three times daily.
