Nature's Sunshine Golden Seal provides 920mg per serve of Golden Seal Root. Golden Seal is native to North America. Its immune-supporting properties are largely due to its hydrastine, berberine and canadine alkaloids. It is said to help support the mucous membranes that line the respiratory, digestive and urinary tracts.
 
The plant has been largely overharvested and is periodically in short supply. Because demand for the herb is high and supplies are low, goldenseal is one of the most expensive herbs on the market. For this reason, many herb suppliers are tempted to adulterate supplies of goldenseal with other herbs of similar chemical composition, such as Oregon grape. However, only goldenseal contains the alkaloid hydrastine.
 
Nature's Sunshine boasts the technology and expertise needed to test golden seal for hydrastine - thus ensuring a pure, unadulterated supply of this valued herb.
  • Pregnant women should not use goldenseal since it may influence uterine muscles.
  • Do not use in place of prescribed anti-virals or anti-infectives.
