Gotu kola is valued so highly in Ayurveda (traditional Indian herbal medicine) that reams have been written about it with emphasis on the fact that it cannot be appreciated enough. In English, the herb is known as gotu kola, centella or Indian pennywort. In Sanskrit, it is called Brahmi. It is thought to help bolster function of the nervous system, brain power, the body’s response to tissue healing and physical strength.
