Nature's Sunshine Protein Digestive Aid contains Pepsin, an enzyme that assists the digestion of proteins in the acidic environment of the stomach.  Pepsin converts proteins into short chains of amino acids. Also contains Betain HCl, which supplements normal body acids.
The stomach manufactures hydrochloric acid to break down proteins. But, as people age, they may produce less HCl, which can affect the amount of protein they can break down and ultimately absorb. Inefficient protein digestion can affect the viability of the intestinal flora that feast on these compounds.

  • Supplements the body's production of important enzymes.
  • Provides a blend of enzymes to digest proteins carbohydrates and fats.
  • Provides Hydrochloric acid and bile salts to help digest proteins and fats.
Do not take with ulcers. May cause stomach irritation in some persons. Take with food. It is not a good idea to constantly take HCl, as this reduces the need for the body to make it for itself. Keep out of the reach of children. Swallow tablet whole. Do not chew or dissolve before swallowing.
Take 1-4 tablets with a meal three times daily. Swallow tablet whole. Do not chew or dissolve before swallowing.
 

Each 4 Tablets Provide:

Betain (betain HCI) 1300mg

Pepsin (contains milk) 80mg

Also contains: Di-calcium phosphate, Cellulose (plant fiber), stearic acid (vegetable), magnesium stearate (vegetable).
