Nature's Way Thisilyn provides 175mg of milk thistle extract per capsule. Thisilyn, the unique standardised milk thistle extract, is the world's standard for quality. It is specially processed to give two times more bioavailability of the active component silymarin. Clinical studies using standardised milk thistle extract show that it supports and promotes normal healthy liver function. The active bioflavonoid complex, silymarin, is a powerful antioxidant that exerts a protective effect against substances harmful to the liver. Thisilyn is especially recommended for those who use alcohol, smoke or are exposed to environmental pollutants.

Thisilyn may have a mild, transient laxative effect in some individuals. This will usually diminish within 2 - 3 days.
Depending on the type and severity of individual toxicity, clearance from the liver and other tissues of these toxins may cause some transient feelings of headache, nausea or fatigue. These are signs that the body is detoxifying at a rate greater than the elimination pathways can cope with. Reduce the dosage of Thisilyn and increase water and fresh fibre food intake to help flush out the toxins. Dosage can usually be increased again in five to seven days.
